Remember the Verizon Lumia 929, aka the “Icon” that kept leaking back in December? We thought it would hit the market before the holidays, giving Nokia and Verizon time to push the handset during the busiest shopping season of the year, but it never hit. Perhaps it’s coming soon, though.
While walking around the show floor at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show, we stopped by the Incipio booth and spotted something super interesting: a case for the Nokia “Lumia Icon.” Of course, that device doesn’t exist yet, but the name matches up with the rumors that were running around back in December. We can’t tell much from the case, other than it might actually launch with a brand name instead of a model number, but our best guess is that the phone is readying for a release.
Case makers often try to guess device measurements ahead of a release in an effort to make sure that accessories are ready at the time of launch, so this could be just a preemptive effort on Incipio’s part. Sometimes that information is willingly provided, and maybe Incipio knows something we don’t. Hopefully we hear more about this very soon.
