Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 (SM-T320) spotted on FCC site

It has already been much speculated that Samsung is to release several new tablets in the new year - this much is fairly obvious. However, now we have proof, of sorts, that an 8.4-inch device is imminent. A approval posting on the Federal Communications Commission confirms the existence of the SM-T320, a tablet believed to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4.

Spotted by Phone Arena, the SM-T320 has been approved to work on the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi bandwidth and has Bluetooth connectivity. The fact that there is no approval for Bluetooth LE or 5GHz wireless support is at odds with suggestions that the tablet will be aimed at the upper mid-range to high-end, but it is confirmation nonetheless.

A separate cargo report for the same tablet designation definitely confirms the screen size, even if the FCC report does not. It shows that three units of the Samsung tablet were shipped on 23 December from South Korea.

Whether we will see the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 at CES remains to be seen. It might not make its debut until Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February.

Pocket-lint will be at CES in Las Vegas from 6 January to bring you all the latest from Samsung and much more.
